Michelle Thomas, Marketing & Communications Manager wrote: Hello Peter, I hope this email finds you well and that you had an enjoyable weekend.

I just wanted to drop you a quick email to say thank-you so much for the fly fishing day on Thursday and for all of the effort that you put into it. The group had a fantastic day and were delighted to catch some fish on those choppy waters.

Subject: Re: Cracking Fish- Thanks Peter, I was so impressed by the fight and the condition of the fish. I remember it was Seagaur you were using but wasn't sure of the breaking strain - I will get some but I usually use Airflo G3 6lb and 7lb but I also have 10lb.

No need to send me the knot instructions (but thanks very much for the offer) because I have found video instructions on YouTube already. Thanks ever so much Peter, I will let you know if I need anything, hopefully we can share a boat again at some point I had a lot of fun and I'm sure I can learn a lot more from you. Yes of course you can use the photo and any comments on your website, no problem at all. Thanks again and all the best. Will.

Thank you to Peter for a wonderful day?s introduction to fly fishing basics on the welcoming Grafham Water. It was everything I had hoped for anrxd fantastic value - from the classroom session on water and wind dynamics, tackle, knots and flies to the practice run on the lawn (where we pretended to be fish on the line!) to wading into the shallows and putting it all into practice.

To have left the water having caught my first rainbow trout is a testament to his patience, tutelage and the freedom he allows his pupils to learn at their own pace. Highly recommended to anybody considering the sport of fly fishing.

Dear Peter

Just a quick e-mail to say thank you for the two sessions we had together. They have really helped to re-kindle my enthusiasm for fly fishing. You were very generous with your time and effort and made the Christmas present voucher from my wife go a long way! I feel I learned a lot and will try to put this in to practice over the next few months.

Best regards, Ray.

Hi Peter,
Thanks for the course today - it was excellent and more than I expected. Just what I needed to get set for boat fishing. Definitely given me the confidence to go out again. Had a really good afternoon - in the end got 4 fish to the boat. Plus lost a couple - and several follows. All to the pink snake you gave me. Will have to add mini snakes to my fly box!

Thanks for lending me the boat seat - will get one now so I am all set for next trip - hopefully will be out again soon. I left the bank seat and the g-clamps with Stuart as requested. Thanks again, Stuart.

Dear Mr Hartley,
It was good to meet you at Hedge End earlier today. You recommended a Snowbee fly line to me, could you let me know if this is the correct one, please?

Attached is a picture of the 6.5 lb sea trout caught from the Warrah on West Falkland earlier this year.

Thank you for your instruction all those years ago, it made a big difference to my casting! Best wishes, Kevin Newsham.

Dear Peter,
News from Skjern/Danmark. Your casting lessons were successful. Today I was able to catch my first Atlantic salmon. A cock 30 inch, 10 pound. We released it. Christian unfortunately lost 2 in the last days.

We hope you're fine and we will see you again for the Fur and Feathers in Grafham and Rutland. Best regards, Almut & Christian.

Clive from Lincoln wrote: Hello Peter, The three of us would like to thank for a great day on Saturday, we all enjoyed the tuition and the afternoons fishing, even the weather kept nice for us. I hope you got your tackle back OK.

Unfortunately I was the only one to catch a fish, a nice 2.2lb rainbow, caught on a nymph from peg 22, (I've attached a photo!!) so the boys did give me a bit of grief for it!!! Suffice to say that we all struggled a bit to get our lines out once you had left but we kept trying!!!

Please find attached the photo of you and the boys. I will keep in touch Peter to let you know how we get on with our fly fishing. Again, many thanks for a great day. Cheers for now, Clive, Tom & Caylum.

Nigel from Bedfordshire wrote: Thanks Peter we all enjoyed the day even if it was watching others catch fish. Everyone said they enjoyed the tuition and I certainly picked up more tips (don't lean forward for one). The sun shone, good company what more could you ask. Thanks for the day being a success Peter, regards, Nigel.

Dennis Hunt, Luton & District Angling Club Treasurer wrote: Very many thanks for both the encouragement and your patience yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and felt I actually learnt quite a lot from you. However I do acknowledge I have some way to go yet. You are right in the fact that I found the conditions and the gusty wind a challenge, but you never know what weather brings and it is after all a part of the challenge, you just have to cope with it.

Thanks once again for the opportunity to go out with someone who knows what they are doing, just to see what can be done and how others do it was great, and to be encouraged and told that I was getting better and not that terribly bad with what I was doing instils some confidence, and encourages one to keep on trying, as they say Rome was not built in a day! Regards,, Dennis.

Andrew Clark, Head of Policy Services, NFU Warwickshire wrote: It was great fun with you on Thursday and, especially, to have the confidence to be fishing in the right part of Rutland Water. I'll work on my casting distance! I hope that your session with the disadvantaged children from London went well, much better I am sure than my office bound existence. Hope that you have a successful season, yours sincerely, Andrew.

Paul from Cambridgeshire wrote: Practised for about an hour and a half today with cotton wool on the Ouse and a stretch of water fed by it, behind me, once the wind gathered pace. Still I got the wool out gracefully on several casts without loads of line crashing on to the water! I will be in touch for more instruction in a few weeks, regards, Paul.

Nick Coogan from Cambridgeshire wrote: I had some casting lessons with you a couple of weeks ago, just to let you know how I got on on the North Esk at the end of that week. We did not do as well as some people who had the first half of the week, but still had 7 Salmon & Grilse for four rods for the 3 days. I had 2 about 4lbs and 8lbs, both on the fly. Overhead casting was much improved, managed to keep my fly well clear of the bank behind me (most of the time!). Also did some Spey Casting which went well most of the time, and not so good at others. Seems you have to get a rhythm with it. Overall I was very pleased with the few days, both casting and fish catching. So thanks again for your help.

Rob Amphlett from Avon wrote: Spoke to Dad and he had a great morning thanks. Given him lots to think about and practice. He is talking about getting some tackle and going out with his friend who fishes. He thought your session was very good - right mix of info and practice and was good the way you broke it up. On the frustration that's just Dad - doesn't like not being able to do things straight away. But knows how to persevere. Thanks again, kind regards, Rob.

Simon Broome from Bedfordshire wrote: Thank you very much for the course last Wednesday, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a testament to you that the day went far too quickly and it has left me wanting to do a lot more ...

Paul Riley from Hertfordshire wrote: Hi Peter, Just a quick email to say many thanks for a great days tuition and fishing yesterday; the Trout's in the oven and the other Paul stayed on and managed to christen my rod with a pair of Rainbows at about 1.5lbs each! I know all the lads had a great day and really enjoyed the session, and we'd certainly be interested in doing something from a boat at Grafham once our techniques have been honed. When would be a good time of year to do a boat session at Grafham? Look forward to meeting you again in the future, many thanks and best regards, Paul.

George Fryer from Hertfordshire wrote: That is why I am now going to do what I have thought about for ages and that is fly fishing. I will always go coarse fishing as my first preference, but I just wanted to say that you have opened the door for me, to another branch of our wonderful sport and I will pursue it with the hope and dedication I have always had for fishing. Tight lines and best wishes, George.

Nick Surman from Bristol wrote: Dear Peter, Just a short note to thank you very much for the two days of fishing this last weekend. I think Mel and I now have the bug, so the challenge now is to create the time to go fishing. You were a great help and great company, thank you so much, Nick.

Dave Wolfe from Bedfordshire wrote: Peter, Just to thank you once again for yesterday. Both Tom and myself really enjoyed ourselves and intend to do more.

Andy Thorogood from Bedfordshire wrote: My son and I recently took a fly casting lesson with you and would like to say what an excellent lesson it was. You are extremely knowledgeable and a superb tutor and we both left feeling that it was money well spent and a thoroughly pleasant few hours. Not to mention that we can now both get a line in the water in a reasonable fashion. Thank you.
